What is the purpose of our Growing Faith Appeal?

Our Growing Faith Land Appeal Fund Appeal is an opportunity for growth in faith and generosity. In preparing to expand our giving to support purchasing a new site for our church, we want to ask ourselves:

• What is truly important?
• What do we want to provide as a legacy for the next generation?
• What will we give to accomplish our goals?

 

What will our Growing Faith Appeal be supporting?

This Appeal seeks to grow Christian stewardshp by securing two-year commitments to purchase land for our new church building.

 

Where is the new land located and how much does it cost?

The land is at the southwest corner of Bloomfield Road and Highway 120. The 11.6 acre property adjoins the Lake Geneva Middle School. It is highly visible, accessible, affordable, and buildable. With its proximity to the schools, it will expand our ministry opportunities with children and youth, as well as with their families.

The cost of the land is $675,000.00

 

How much financial support do we hope to secure in this Appeal?

The financial goal of the Appeal is to secure at least $700,000, or more, in gifts of cash, stock or other assets and two-year pledges. Contributions and pledges to our Growing Faith Land Fund Appeal need to be OVER and ABOVE or weekly offerings for current expenses and benevolence.

 

MONDAY MORNING PRAYERS

Come join us for a brief prayer time every Monday morning during the Growing Faith Appeal. The Spiritual Emphasis Group for our Appeal will be leading this prayer opportunity. Come between 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. to begin each week in prayer for the mission and ministry of Immanuel. If you can’t make it in the morning, feel free to stop by and pray when you can.

 

UNCERTAINTY TO TRUST…FEAR TO FAITH… SCARCITY TO ABUNDANCE

The daily news suggests that we live in times of uncertainty. All too often, unsettling news seems to grab the headlines. We are eager for a word of good news to lift our spirits.

As people of faith, we are blessed with a unique and powerful source of Good News that moves us from uncertainty to trust. Our study of scripture assures us that God’s love for us is rock solid. No matter what chaos swirls around us, we trust in the promise that “Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:39). Through God’s grace, we are freed from fear to faithfully live out God’s purposes for our lives. We are reminded every day of God’s generosity, especially for the gift of his Son, whose resurrection we just
celebrated.

Our GROWING FAITH Appeal takes a confident and bold stand that we trust in God’s abundance and goodness. Paul’s reminder to the Ephesians is also a good word for us as we embark on this venture. “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in all the church and in Jesus Christ throughout all generations, for ever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:20).

When the power of God works in us by the presence of the Holy Spirit, we can do amazing things like purchase land and build a new church. When that happens, we give glory to Christ, because the generations that follow us will be blessed.

There is growing energy and enthusiasm for these opportunities God has set before us. We welcomed over 1000 worshipers on Easter! Will visitors who stop by on a Sunday sense that we have room for them? Will students in overcrowded Sunday School classes be able to hear about Jesus amidst all the noise? Will our building continue to serve as a welcome place for a wide range of community ministries? By taking the first step to secure land, a future building will enable us to continue to be a congregation known for its GROWING FAITH.

As an act of faith, God empowers us to translate our excitement into commitment. Given the times we live in, our generous giving to this Land Appeal will entail sacrifice. We know God will bless our effort, using every gift to bless the world. Through this Appeal, we will both grow the church physically, and our GROWING FAITH will transform us as God’s people.

We are so thankful to be partners with you in this faith-filled journey. You are an amazing, capable, loving and generous congregation with an enormous heart to care. Pray with us that God will do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine!
